What Is the Egyptian Fellowship?
The Egyptian Fellowship is a specialised postgraduate training programme for healthcare professionals — including doctors, nurses, and practitioners — lasting between 3 and 6 years depending on the specialty. It combines intensive clinical training in university hospitals with structured academic coursework delivered by Egypt's leading medical faculties.
The programme is supervised by the Supreme Committee for Health Specialties under the Egyptian Ministry of Health. Egyptian universities participating in the programme rank highly in QS, Times Higher Education, Shanghai, and Leiden international rankings, and are listed under the UNESCO global convention.
Goals of the Egyptian Fellowship Programme
The programme aims to qualify healthcare professionals as independent, highly competent specialists through:
- Direct clinical training in university and teaching hospitals
- Comprehensive academic study covering all dimensions of the specialty
- Written, practical, and oral examinations assessing clinical skills
- An internationally recognised certificate equivalent to the American Board, British Fellowship, and Arab Board
Is the Egyptian Fellowship Internationally Recognised?
Yes. The Egyptian Fellowship is a globally recognised professional credential, equivalent in standing to the American Board, British Fellowship, and Arab Board. The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties classifies it as an accredited professional qualification, opening doors to employment in Saudi Arabia, Gulf countries, and international medical markets.
