Egyptian Universities Welcoming International Students for Archaeology
- Cairo University: 4 basic departments + 6 English-language departments including Archaeological Information Systems and material restoration. Specialization in Year 2.
- Ain Shams University: 5 departments including Museum and Archaeological Site Management.
- South Valley, Zagazig, Luxor, Aswan Universities: 3 departments each (Egyptian, Islamic, Restoration). Zagazig also offers Graeco-Roman archaeology and French language.
- Damietta University: Museum management, Archaeological and heritage site management, Restoration.
- Fayoum University: 4 departments including Graeco-Roman archaeology.
All these universities accept international students from a minimum grade of 50%.
Postgraduate Programs
Master's (15 programs): Egyptian, Islamic, Restoration archaeology, Graeco-Roman, prehistoric, ancient Near East, Arabian Peninsula and Gulf, Mediterranean countries, Islamic Mashriq, Maghreb and Andalusia, organic and inorganic material restoration, architectural restoration, archaeological environmental sciences (English).
PhD (14 programs): Same as Master's plus history of art.
Undergraduate Admission Requirements
- Non-Egyptian nationality, valid passport (1+ year), TOEFL or IELTS
- Authenticated secondary certificate minimum 50%, apply before September
Postgraduate Admission Requirements
- Non-Egyptian, valid passport, TOEFL or IELTS
- Bachelor's/Licence for Master's; master's for PhD
- Embassy approval specifying academic year and target degree, apply before September
