South Valley University was established in October 1970 as a branch of Assiut University, then gained full independence in 1995 to become a standalone public university. It has grown to 22 faculties that all welcome international students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Academic System at South Valley University

All faculties apply an integrated educational system combining academic curricula with applied training. Study durations vary: 7 years for Medicine (5 academic + 2 internship years), 5 years for Veterinary Medicine and Nursing, and 4 years for all other faculties. The academic year is divided into two semesters. Postgraduate programmes range from 2 to 5 years depending on the faculty and degree.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements

• Non-Egyptian nationality with a valid passport (minimum two years remaining)
• High school diploma or equivalent that qualifies for university enrolment in the issuing country
• Pass the aptitude test for faculties that require it
• Embassy approval for studying at the university
